What is the marriage supper of the Lamb?

Who is the wife of the Lamb and who are the guests at the marriage supper?What is the marriage supper of the Lamb?
The apostle John leaves us in no doubt as to whom the Bride class, the anointed Christian congregation, marries in heaven. In Revelation 19:6-9 John writes: “Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty thunderpeals, crying, ‘Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to be clothed with fine linen, bright and pure’—for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. And the angel said to me, ‘Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’ And he said to me, ‘These are true words of God.’”—RS.

54 The marriage is that of the Lamb of God, not the marriage of the Lord our God the Almighty. The Bride is the Bride of the Lamb of God, not the Bride of God the Almighty. The marriage supper is that of the Lamb of God; and the prophetic parables of Jesus indicate that it is his Father, the Lord our God the Almighty, who prepares the marriage supper for the Lamb, his Son.

55 A few verses later on, in Revelation 19:11-16, the apostle John identifies the Lamb of God as being the Word or Logos, for John sees the Lamb riding forth to battle against his Father’s enemies. John describes him, saying: “He is clad in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. . . . On his robe and on his thigh he has a name inscribed, King of kings and Lord of lords.” (RS) Hence his 144,000 faithful followers become the Bride of the Word of God, not the Bride of God.

56 The ones married are shown again in the further vision, which John describes, saying: “I saw also the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And there came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls which were full of the seven last plagues, and he spoke with me and said: ‘Come here, I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.’ So he carried me away in the power of the spirit to a great and lofty mountain, and he showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God and having the glory of God. . . . The wall of the city also had twelve foundation stones, and on them the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. And I did not see a temple in it, for Jehovah God the Almighty is its temple, also the Lamb is. And the city has no need of the sun nor of the moon to shine upon it, for the glory of God lighted it up, and its lamp was the Lamb.”—Rev. 21:2, 9-11, 14, 22, 23.

57 Always we are shown that there is a distinction made between the Lamb and the Lord our God the Almighty, and that it is to the Lamb that the Bride of 144,000 members is married. It is the Lamb’s wife that she becomes. If there were such a thing as the Trinity, then the 144,000 could not help marrying God in one of his Persons and thus becoming one with God.What is the marriage supper of the Lamb?
The Lamb's Supper by Scott Hahn is a great book.

The marriage supper is the celebration of the Euchurist and anyone who keeps Jesus' words and joins him in Communion is one with Him.

He commissioned his Apostles to make disciples of all nations.
The wife of the Lamb is the true church/ the redeemed of Christ; and the marriage supper is that time when the redeemed and Christ all meet together for the first time in Heaven.
I prefer the lamb cooked extremely well and served with a mint sauce--marrying the lamb with my stomach juices.
The Church is His Bride. The Lamb is Jesus. The marriage supper is when the Bride joins The Lamb in Heaven.

What is a marriage ceremony like between people of different traditions?

Different religions have so many different wedding traditions. What are ceremonies like that mix two different religions of the couple? (This is coming from someone who is single and has no idea why she has this curiosity!)What is a marriage ceremony like between people of different traditions?
Each couple is different - you can have just about anything you want at your ceremony!

Anyone can marry you - if they are a notary in that state or ordained to marry anywhere.

My husband and I have very different backgrounds - his family is Italian and more Catholic, mine is Irish and more laid back and not very religious.

We chose to do what was best for us as a couple (we aren't religious) - and had a close friend marry us on a yacht (she is a notary).

Everything worked out wonderfully and we were so happy!

Each couple choose what is best for them - and really, the sky is the limit to what you can do!What is a marriage ceremony like between people of different traditions?
It is common to have 2 officiants at a wedding. One from each persons faith. The 2 officiants will work together to form a ceremony specialized to the needs of the Bride and Groom. But some times the 2 different spiritual leaders won't work together, and that is when the couple will have 2 separate ceremonies. One for each faith. You see this a lot with Christian and Hindu couples.
If both parties are agreeing, they usually do things from both traditions in the ceremony and reception. I went to a Jewish/Christian wedding 2 weeks ago and they said everything in Hebrew and translated in English, and they incorporated both traditions such as the glass stomping and other things like that all combined. It was really nice!
I was a bridesmaid in a gorgeous NYC wedding where the bride (my friend) was Catholic and her now husband was Jewish...it was pretty cool! They had a Rabi AND a Priest marry them. It was like any ceremony, but with more flare :o)

  • How long does a couple have to be together before they are considered to have a common law marriage?

    I am not looking for your opinion on Common Law marriage, quite frankly I don't care if you don't believe in it. I am however, asking for the minimum requirement for Common Law in California.How long does a couple have to be together before they are considered to have a common law marriage?
    Common Law Marriage FAQ

    Common Law Marriage is not recognized in the state of California.

    Learn what it is and where it's recognized.

    EDIT

    Well... that didn't take very long, did it?

    LOLHow long does a couple have to be together before they are considered to have a common law marriage?
    California does not recognize common law marriages. Which mean that you cannot ever be common-law married. Either way, common law marriage is established when a man and woman cohabit and recognize themselves as husband and wife...as well as act as husband and wife in public. There is no time minimum for this. But, like I said, you are in CA...it does not exist. These states do:

    Alabama

    Colorado

    District of Columbia

    Georgia (if created before 1/1/97)

    Idaho (if created before 1/1/96)

    Iowa

    Kansas

    Montana

    New Hampshire (for inheritance purposes only)

    Ohio (if created before 10/10/91)

    Oklahoma

    Pennsylvania (if created before 1/1/05)

    Rhode Island

    South Carolina

    Texas

    Utah
    I do not believe California has common-law marriage.

    For states that do, it's 7-10 years living together /and/ you must /both/ present yourselves as husband %26amp; wife.

    Just living together is not enough.

    Common law marriage is recognized only in the following states:

    * Alabama

    * Colorado

    * District of Columbia

    * Iowa

    * Kansas

    * Montana

    * New Hampshire (for inheritance purposes only)

    * Oklahoma

    * Pennsylvania

    * Rhode Island

    * South Carolina

    * Texas

    * Utah
    First are you sure that California recognizes common law marriage? There are only a few states that do. I belive its 7 or 10 yrs.

    Call your county offices and ask if anyone knows the answer. Or call a lawyer that deals with family issues.
    California doesn't recognize Common Law marriage.
    As far as I know the state of California does NOT recognize Common Law Marriages.
    California doesn't recognize common-law marriage, period. Stop trolling and start Googling.
    Common Law marriage is not recognized in California.
    I believe the statute has it listed as 7 years
    10 years, but your state may not recognize this law. Call and find out!
    I believe it's 7 years. But that's redneck years.

    What is the difference between a domestic partnership and a marriage?

    Im doing a paper on prop 8 and i wanted to know whether the domestic partners get the same rights as married couples.. and if not, what are married couples allowed that domestic partners aren't?What is the difference between a domestic partnership and a marriage?
    While civil unions grant same-sex couples the same protections as married couples under state law, they deny same-sex couples the 1,049 protections granted to married couples under federal law. These include Social Security survivor benefits, the ability the sponsor a partner for immigration and the ability to take federal leave (and state leave in all states, excluding California) to care for a sick partner.

    Furthermore, civil unions aren鈥檛 portable, meaning that states can refuse to recognize a civil union from another state. Unfortunately, civil unions are only performed in Vermont and, to date, no other state has recognized a civil union performed there. Married couples have the privilege of having their union recognized in all 50 states.What is the difference between a domestic partnership and a marriage?
    Bragging rights . . . that's the ONLY difference.

    The ';legal'; protections are the same . . . but a civil union won't give you bragging rights to say, ';I'm MARRIED.';

    Dan in Miami
    i'm pretty sure they get the same rights in a domestic partnership as if it were a marriage. they just don't have the right to call it a ';marriage';.
    nothing just that homos complain too much that they want it to be called marriage its that dumb equal rights crap

    How is the best way to make any Relationship or Marriage work out?

    I mean how do i get the best out of my Relationships or Marriage and Making my Partner Happy too.How is the best way to make any Relationship or Marriage work out?
    communication is key.

    rub her feet from time to time,

    also it wouldnt hurt to surprize her from time to time either by..you know, sending flowers to her work or showing up at her house with flowers.little things like that means ALOT. you know just get creative and romantic alot of ladies love that stuffHow is the best way to make any Relationship or Marriage work out?
    Realize and understand how important sex is to the relationship. Ladies keep up your looks no matter what. Men be Men. Take care of her. Open the door, take the trash, make sure the car is clean, in working order. Listen to her when she talks. Show an interest in her life. Ladies, guys don't seem to care about the emotional aspect of things. So don't waste your time. Just keep up appearances.
    Communication....and honesty. The only way to make your partner happy is to know what makes him/her happy. And the same goes for you too. Open communication is the start of a happy life!
    Lots and lots and lots and lots!!!!! of sex... do it all the time, every where, allll night long!!!!!! Next time you see your loved one say, lets get it oooooooooooooooon babe!
    It's a bit of a cliche, but here's your answer: COMMUNICATION. The most important skills you can have are being a good communicator and being a better listener.
    Be there for them no matter what. Talk with them, and care for them. In a marriage, make sure that you do little things for your spouse sparingly. If you fight always make up. Never go to bed angry.
    Communication is the way to go. Being patient and being able to talk about anything is what the greatest relationships are built on.
    Communication.

    Also; Oral sex.

    What tricks do women use to trap a man into marriage?

    I am a 34 year old single guy. I have never been in a serious relationship and I have never had sex because I am shy around women and have concentrated on my education and career. Now that I have a great career and have established myself I am considering dating. I have been told I am very good looking but never really noticed when women came on to me before. My concern is some woman will now try to trap me into marriage. What should I look out for? What tricks do women use to trick men into marriage?What tricks do women use to trap a man into marriage?
    I usually put some meat under a box with a stick holding it up. I attach a string to the stick and hide behind a bush or large rock. Then when a man innocently wonders into my trap I pull the string, thereby trapping the man under the box. That has worked pretty well for me so far.What tricks do women use to trap a man into marriage?
    Why would any woman want to trick you into marriage? Most women prefer to marry men who want to marry them too. If you don't want to marry a particular woman, why would she try to trick you into marriage?

    If your intentions towards a woman are not serious, then it is best to keep things quite casual. Don't make any promises you don't intend to keep. Most women can find men who want to marry them without the need to trick a man into marriage.
    Most women won't try to trick you into marriage.

    If you have money, though, you're more likely to get tricked. If she's always asking you to buy things, or hinting around that she'd like this or that, take it as a big red flag.

    Otherwise, just take your time - get to know a woman as a friend for a while first, and then, once you've had time with no strings attached and no expectations or pressure, if you think she's someone you'd like to date, make her your girlfriend. Take your time. There's no reason to rush rush rush or to jump right into a romantic relationship with someone you don't know well. Pay attention to what she says and does (especially when she thinks you aren't looking). There will be red flags if she's a gold digger.
    Do you assume that your such a catch women feel the need to claim you, or just that women are lurking in corners and dark ally ways trying to find a male victim to attach themselves too?

    You can't get trapped into marriage.

    Nobody can force you to marry someone.

    Sure, someone could get pregnant and say that it's the right thing to do, but you still wouldn't have to marry them, and it's half your fault anyway.

    Why don't you just go out and have fun, instead of worrying that women will suck you into their evil plans and force you into marriage.
    No one can make you do anything you don't wanna do my friend. If you don't want to get married you won't get married. If you chose to have sex with a woman, and you're not ready for kids, wear a condom or don't do it all (as you have been). Find a woman that you're ready to settle down with and leave it at that! There are not magical tricks, here are not special deals or curses that will force you into a union with someone you're not ready to wed (even if you did have a kid with her). Marriage in this country is voluntary. And no one can arrange a marriage for you, nor make you take someones hand in marriage.
    Just because you have your career? PLEASEEEE dude! They may want to use you for your money but not marriage unless you find yourself with a broke desperate single mother with kids. How about getting off your high horse back down into reality. Start with that first. Then you can learn to build yourself a personality that will attract the right type of woman for you. You don't need to be thinking about all sorts of tricks women use. Go ask momma for an arranged marriage if your that scared.
    How can someone ';trap'; you into marriage? I don't think most states recognize the legality of shotgun weddings anymore. And considering that you're a 34 year old virgin who's never really dated before, I think you're skipping kinda far down on the list of concerns you should have with the dating process right now.
    well people who talk about marriage on the first few dates or what not!

    like if i was a guy and your a girl reading this question would make me back off from you

    why?

    because you never had sex and your talking about this marriage stuff!

    why not take it one step at a time and just date!

    if your this scared about being trapped everyone will be guilty in your eyes and you'll never get married.

    so just enjoy the momement at hand and love people for who they are!
    Since the other people above me clearly got the ';trapping'; subject covered (there are some hilarious answers on here, lol), not much for me to say there, but what I have to say is whats wrong with marriage? Whats wrong with settling down? Ha, I mean your not getting any younger pal....

    I'm just being honest here.
    Dude. You're a 34 year old virgin who has never dated. Do you really think women are that scary that they are all desperate to trap you into marriage? Maybe you'll date them and they won't even like you! Your ego is huge for a 34-year-old-virgin.
    They'll use their sexuality and flattery to lure you in. Once lured in, they'll pressure you into marrying them giving them full access to your bank account. They'll only do this if they see you as a suitable mate though.
    The oldest one is ';get married and i'll let you tap this.';

    Also, guilt trips, crying, and acting wonderful until the ring is on are also common tactics.
    TWO WORDS: ';I'm pregnant';.... just kidding... stay a virgin until you're married and that won't be a problem and you'll love the girl for who she is not for what she does in bed. Classy ladies don't use tricks.
    You lost me at 34 year old virgin. I don't believe it is because of the reasons you gave. So if a girl actually wants to marry you, jump on it because it may be your last and only chance,
    i dont know any women who woudl trick someone into marriage - i want to marry someone who actively wants to marry me, an who doesnt need any convincing or trickery!
    In no particular order:

    Get pregnant

    Nag

    Ask them what they think about marriage when the man is near orgasm (at that moment they would bark like a dog if you asked them to)

    oh crap, that's all I have
    WHOA!!! you shook my equilibrium for a moment there.

    you're making it sound like no man ever want to get married. no trick there. some men just want to get married.
    Just make sure your wallet is locked, and that you're the only one who knows your pin #.

    Don't fall for any ';crying'; about money, walk away from it, even if you feel bad.
    Beware if she has a buried electrical wire running around the perimeter of her house and she tries to get you to wear a collar.
    Pregnancy and the old tireless favorite. Calling you a commitment-phobe. Typical shaming tactics.
    I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you--you're already so defensive that not a whole lot women would want you.
    No one is going to try to trap you. You sound like an unappealing nerd anyway.
    Basically acting like decent people is the #1 tipoff to look ot for......
    What I do is hang a neon sign in my window, and the men come running to me screaming MARRIAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lmao
    Um, get over yourself, no one wants you.
    Like, she's going to drug you and drag you to Vegas?
    trap you! with that attitude I doubt you'll get one to date you
    youre a 34 year old virgin who has never been in a relationship? and you blame the career and education? lol news flash people have balanced career, education,and relationships for quite some time! good luck on working out those social skills...

    if you arent even in a relationship then you couldnt understand the love that drives people to marry or just spend a large portion of their lives together. marriage isnt for everyone. and you wont have to worry about it because most women arent just going to try to marry some guy they hardly know. youll know when you want to get married and thats all that matters. if youre not ready to marry and youre not feeling the relationship then just move on.

    the only way to actually trap a man into marriage would be having kids. anything else is just excuses from weak men. men trap women in marriages as well sometimes btw...
    Pregnancy, rape accusations (in Latin America).

    You shouldn't have waited so long. Less attractive girls might not make you as hard but if you don't look like and them when having sex and imagine a young attractive girl you can still enjoy it a bit. Try prostitutes, just double bag it. Whatever you do, do not tell the girl you're a virgin. That is a big turn-off!

    Answer this-- do you want a 30-34 year-old woman or an 18-23 girl to be with?

    How did your marriage change after the birth of your baby?

    My dh and I have been together for 10 yrs, married for 7. We've always been very close. But since the pregnancy and birth of our very much wanted baby boy, I'm seeing different traits in my dh that I'm not too happy with (selfishness especially). I'm back at work, and I'm still paying 1/2 the bills, so it's not a $ thing, and we have very good childcare coverage and plenty of time to spend as just husband and wife (every Sat night is date night.) Rgh. Is this permanent?!How did your marriage change after the birth of your baby?
    I don't know if this is permanent, but from what i understand it's pretty common. I got my dh a book called Hit the Ground Crawling. It's for dads-to-be and new dads, but it tackles how marriage changes and how guys often react to a new bub. We got the book from www.newdads.com and it was well worth the $$. DH loves it as its written by guys for guys, but helps them adjust to the new addition in their life.How did your marriage change after the birth of your baby?
    Stick with it! Things do get better. Having a baby in the house is a huge adjustment. Your dh has to share his emotions with two of you now. Our kids are much older now and I feel like my dh and I are beginning to have a life of our own again. The kids still dominate most of our time and emotions but we can see ';the light at the end of the tunnel.';
    i agree with lydia mine sleeps on the couch my whole pregnancy and even now (baby only 2 weeks) i'm the one that feeds her changes her dresses her does everything for her SOOOO when u get the answer please let me know
    i was'nt married when i had my frist becouse i was like 15 and i am 16 now and have another but when my boyfreind frist found out he left me and came back about 11 months ago and got me pregnant again and i had my second 3 weeks ago and he left when he found out i still have gaven my frist baby and when he found out i was keeping christine my baby gril and he has'nt came back and i will never take him back
    I have 2,and yes, things change. He might be selfish because ';he's'; not the center of your attention anymore. You are doing the right thing though by making time for each other. No, it's not permanent, but babies require a lot of adjustments. He might even feel left out if you take care of the baby when you are both home. Maybe you can have him give him a bath, a bottle, read a story so they can bound as father/son also. On your next ';date night';, maybe you can discuss this with each other. Communication is the best thing to making a marriage work.
    When the right answer comes along, holler. My son was born 8 years ago, and it hasn't changed for me yet.
    My marriage didn't change at all. We just grew even closer %26amp; I didn't even know that was possible. We'd been married for 15 years wanting a baby when we finally got pg.

    Your husband may be going through some kind of adjustment. My husband started having anxiety attacks in my 4th month of pregnancy %26amp; they just got worse after our son was born. He's fine now though.

    I guess every new dad deals with it in different ways.
    I HAVE BEEN WITH MY HUSBAND FOR 16 YEARS, MARRIED 12. WE HAVE 3 BOYS 15, 11, AND 3. IT CHANGED ALOT. SEX LIFE, I DON'T HAVE. I'M 32 AND HUSBAND IS 40, I'M VERY AFFECTIONATE AND HE'S NOT. I AM A FULL TIME STAY-AT- HOME MOM AND FEEL THAT I DESERVE SEX 1 TIME A WEEK, I'M LUCKY IF I GET 1 TIME A MONTH. HAVING A BABY IS A BIG ADJUSTMENT FOR EVERYONE. YOU ARE NOT ALONE, ALOT OF WOMEN FEEL THE SAME AS YOU. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
    As one from the other side I will say that most men do look at their wives very different after she gets pregnant and especially after the child is born. I know I did and still do not know why. We parted company and I have stayed single since. Never another child in my house. I have no idea where they are now.
    I had to raise my wife along with my son. My wife didn't work before my first was born.
    I was with mine for 5 years when I got pregnant and he did change with the selfishness. I hear you. He was more worried about material things for himself then me going out to buy the baby things and bills. Were still working it now.
    I don't think that there is anything more life-changing than having a baby. It's such a huge deal to become parents, I know that my dh and I have had to make some huge adjustments.

    You're doing the right thing by making time for yourselves. I think that, in time, you will begin to regain some of your closeness and love for each other. Babies bring reality with them. I'm sure you will be fine, what you are feeling is very normal and things do calm down!
