How does a law passed in one state affect somebody else in another state?...For example gay marriage?

Also, relate whether it is proper for the U.S. Supreme Court to uphold all civil laws from one state even though the law may affect the way someone lives in another state. Remember, states have the right to oversee their ';public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings';.

Also, please give an example of one state that had to readjust its law because of another state.

Thank YouHow does a law passed in one state affect somebody else in another state?...For example gay marriage?
Each state can choose to cooperate or not with each other. States rights, in some case, over ride the Federal laws. The Feds step in when someone or some thing is transported unlawfully over states line. How does a law passed in one state affect somebody else in another state?...For example gay marriage?
May, you have entered an area known as Social Contracts. It's too large a subject for a short answer. But, let me state that it has to do with what we all recognize as morality. All marriage is recognized by each state. Or none would be. If a state recognizes gay marriage, then all are obligated to. The only other choice is not to recognize any marriage.
The reciprocity of Gay Marriage at this time; doesn't merit the same status as Heterosexual Marriage. However; driver's licenses do reciprocate in all states in the Union.
it doesn't. case closed. states cannot pass laws that other states are bound to follow.
