How long does the application process take for an Iranian to come to the US after marriage?

Hello. I am an american/iranian, born in the US. I am traveling to Iran this summer to marry an iranian man. about how long does it take for the application process, for him to come here? also, is it wise to hire an immigration lawyer? It never hurts to have a lawyer. It's difficult to predict how long the process will take. He will have to undergo a background check, a health screening and fingerprinting. if his only criteria are marriage.. unfortunately might take a long time , may be a year or two... but if he has a lot of qualification... like if his job is needed here.. or business etc.. it might go faster... all this is because many people used the marriage fraudulently to enter the USA.. also with all the political problems with Iran, that delays the process... good luck ...
I believe after you are married he can file/apply for a visa, this maybe a special visa for spouses of an American citizen. He may even be able to return with you. You can do all this on your own including filing for his residency. Hiring a lawyer for this is like throwing money out the window. May you see/enjoy your great grandkids together. This means a lifetime of happiness together.
