Realistically is there any point in waiting for sex until marriage?

Everyone is a non-virgin by 20...

Does anyone actually wait anymore or should I look on craigslist for a whore to sleep with?

I';m only waiting for religious reasons but I want other people's input on this.Realistically is there any point in waiting for sex until marriage?
Yes there a very good reasons to wait. People are not objects for other people to use for their own selfish gratification. When you have sex before marriage that is what you are doing, using the other person for pleasure. And often this happens in marriage also.

The sexual act is a physical way of saying that you commit yourself to this person for the rest of your life. If you have sex outside of marriage then you are lying with your body. You have not made the commitment yet you are saying that you have by having sex.Realistically is there any point in waiting for sex until marriage?
Realistically, no! The decision to wait, largely based on faith nowadays, comes from moral ideology that likely derived from practical necessity - at a different time, however, in human history.

In ancient (and even early modern) times, it was much more practical to wait until marriage to assure the best care and nurturing of newborns and young. And to prevent STD transmission. But that was before technological advancements such as rubber manufacture, ';magic bullets,'; etc.

Modern contraception and prophylactics have reduced sex from the potentially ';earth-moving'; event it once was (through the power to create a human life) to a mere physical exercise - similar to a gym workout. Although not TOTALLY risk-free, even when using precaution, non-marital sex is tremendously less risky than just decades ago.

Therefore, marriage is less necessary for sexual activity risks.

Besides, if you do decide to marry, at least you'll know not only the mutual compatibility, you'll also be more sure about the gender of your potential ';life partner.';
i'm 24 and still a virgin. i had my chances to give it away but i said no. i'm saving it for marriage. and only then i'll give my virginity to the woman truly loved. not before. this woman is worth the wait. if it takes 20yrs for it too all happen. then so be it.

so let it be written. so it will be done.
I am waiting for religious reasons, but even if I wasn't religious I think I would probably still wait because wouldn't you want your first time to be with the person you are married to on your wedding night so that it is special? But I am waiting for religious reasons

Jehovah's Witnesses do. You can argue with that, but since they teach the youth equally to adults, all are involved.

Don't pay anyone. If you're gonna do it, at least do it with someone you trust.

You don't want to end up with an std or something like that.
Yes people still wait. And you should keep your morals they are one of the most attractive things to girls, once you ger older.
I'm a 20 year old female. I am still a virgin. I'm pretty sure I'wont be having sex any time soon. So don't generalize.
no--well i mean only if u actually do get married from say 18-25

but if u get married at 40 then uh no
No. There is no point in waiting until marriage.

Just be safe.
