Will a second marriage affect an immigration decision?

I have been married for five years and we are getting divorced. If I were to remarry someone who needs to go through the immigration process would it be affected by my previous marriage? I have heard yes and no so I am very unsure! Thanks for your help and advice!!! Also any idea how long the process would take start to finish. Will a second marriage affect an immigration decision?
There are no laws against it, if the marriage is not sham, but it will be scrutinized and red flagged, to determine the marriage is in fact legitimate. Will a second marriage affect an immigration decision?
The american cit and any other joint Affidavit of support signer on the first marriage must inform USCIS of their location if new and the alien must file an AR11

Any other marriage would mean an extra Affidavit of support ..you have to earn enough to cover it

Affidavits do not die with the marriage
Yes,you must inform of any changes in circumstances.
