I have serious respect though, for those who walk out of arranged marriages and spurn the community and turn their backs on what others think. this is rare, but I tell you, I have a whole lot or respect for those that have the courage of their convictions.... and just ACT.

No, it is not guts that force a love marriage, when people have a love marriage they are also serious for its success, they try to compromise and adjust, actually harder than they do in arranged marriage. In love marriage they take the total responsibility on their shoulders, they even fight with their people who oppose the marriage, so they try hard to make it a success, it is a shame to return back to parents that I made the wrong choice. In arranged marriage, the families take the resposibility, after that even for small wrongs one rushes to the family and complaints about the spouse. Oh mom he said that, or the MIL said that...like this. Anyway, everybody wants 'No Divorce', but sometimes it seems inevitable.
Most people who get divorced get married in the first place because they have a great physical relationship and when the novelty of this wears off, which doesn't take long, there is nothing left because there was no love there in the first place.
Arranged marriages start with nothing, no love no anything, so they would be forced to stay together by their families.
Ur such a cynic! That's what I love 'bout ur q's. I would say love also, but arranged marriages do fail. sometimes parents loose. Sometimes kids just dont care, and parents realize that it's not their marriage. Then again, there are many arrangements that fail due to parental involvement too. But ur right about the love marriages. They dont' stay together inspite of their parents, or kids, as much as the arranged ones do.

in some cases only cowards will go for divorce. If they can't work for marriage then why the hell people go for marriage. Whatever it may be, love or arranged. How many arranged marriages have you seen to speak like this? In our family, I have seen arranged marriage and love marriage. Both are living happily. Boss, marriage is not simple thing. Understand that first. If the marriage is not going well, they should try to work on that. I hope you don't know the meaning of love also. In our india love is not based on body, it is based on mind, loving others personality. If your parents searched girl for you, just spend time with her, come to know about personality and then you marry. Why, can't it happen? Did your parents are forcing you to marry only that girl. Then tell it is my life, I also have to decide. Then problem is solved. Got it buddy
One thing I will tell, may be my words are harsh. But the truth is don't get excited when you are writing something. I know you are thinking arranged marriages are bad and only love marriage is good. Please come out from that and see marriage as marriage. It will bring to souls together.
