I am curious if in a long term marriage a mistake can be forgiven under the circumstances of war and the hardships of being attached to the military? Is one affair allowed in a military marriage?
Here's the deal:
Technically, any act of adultery (having sex with someone who is not your spouse) is a violation of Article 134 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice and is punishable by court-martial.
The big issue is proof. If the accused doesn't admit to an affair, there would have to be compelling evidence that the accused did have an affair. A he-said-she-said usually won't fly, but if you have testimony from a third party who actually saw the accused messing around, or if you have video, that goes a long way toward proving adultery.
Let's say for the sake of argument you have a guy who cheated on his wife and either admitted it or they have enough evidence to prove it. The accused's commanding officer has broad discretion in situations like this. One of the elements of proof for this offense is that the offense must have been prejudicial to the preservation of good order and discipline in the armed forces, or was of a nature to bring discredit upon the armed forces. That's very subjective, and ultimately it's the commanding officer's call.
BOTTOM LINE: The commanding officer can elect not to prosecute, and he/she can also dispose of the case by other means like a letter of counseling, a letter of reprimand, Article 15 proceedings, etc. So even if someone gets busted for adultery, it doesn't necessarily end someone's military career. Is one affair allowed in a military marriage?
NO, if you love someone and are committed you won't cheat.
If you are military or married to military, you knew the potential for long separations was in play.
I know a specialist who cheats on his wife every once in awhile, saying they have an understanding about loneliness and being far away in a foreign country at war and emotions/survival sex instinct kicking in. Whatever, it's all BS!
Be true to the person that you love and if you can't spare them the hurt.
Also, just for your info, if a military enlisted cheats it is illegal because it is considered adultery by the military. If a wife cheats on her deployed husband with another soldier same thing. The enlisted can be charged and arrested for adultery.
no, absolutely not, in fact adultery is a punishable offense under the Uniformed Code of Military Justice, as is sodomy. just because you have to leave your family for a period of time does not give either spouse the right to cheat. Then again, I'm not sure if you are refering to morally or legally, but who am I to judge so you only get my legal opinion.
i have to admint this is a strange question
An affair is not just a mistake. It is the utmost violation of the sanctity of marriage and the trust between you and your spouse. Once you cheat your relationship will never be the same, even if your spouse says she forgives you because the trust and respect level will forever be tarnished.
be forgiven by who? its a personal choice, not a law or a freebie. it depends on your values and morals and beliefs on the subject.
Depends on if your spouse forgives you. But then, it also depends on if you can forgive yourself.
only GOD can forgive your transgressions!
jelk off your pud, if you have a need to commit adultery!
No. Of course, if you don;t get caught......................
hmmm can anyone say..JODY!!!!!?!??!?!?!??!
