Should the law accept all notions of what a marriage is or dictate the ways/means of getting married ?

Could you please explain to me what this means/what they think about this ? Thanks.Should the law accept all notions of what a marriage is or dictate the ways/means of getting married ?
not really sure what your question is.

Is this something you've been set for homework? sounds like the kind of crappy question that could only have been thought up by a teacher.

Firstly i don't think the law ';accepts all notions of what a marriage is...'; but yes i think they should dictate the ways and means of getting married as it would be chaos if anyone could get married without it being lega.Should the law accept all notions of what a marriage is or dictate the ways/means of getting married ?
Not sure about where you live, but here (Canada) there's civil marriage service conducted by Justice of the Peace or church marriage conducted by any recognized minister of that church. There's also ';common law'; marriage which states that any 2 people that live together for more than 12 months are considered to be ';common law'; spouses and after that any separation is covered under the same laws as divorce. So, you can pretty much decide for yourself which way you want to go about it. You can stand under a holly branch, kiss your significant other and say ';we're married';. After 12 months, it has legal recognition. Also, where I live, United Church and in civil marriage you can legally marry someone of same sex.

Not sure if that answers your question or not, but there aren't a lot of restrictions.
You need to expand your question. First off, the law doesn't deal in ';notions'; and laws change from state to state i.e. Michigan is a ';no-fault'; state, so in the case of a divorce, no one is ';at fault'; so you can't bring up infidelity UNLESS you are fighting for custody.

The only ways/means you need to get married is a marriage license, issued in the county you live in with a driver license and a birth certificate.
If all it involved was marriage it would be easy but when the law declares someone married there are a lot of other things involved. Employers are required to offer health ins to a spouse, Social Security has a spouse benefit and a whole host of other things that involve a spouse. It's all good until some nutcase is in love and marries his or her cat. Do you want your SS money supporting a cat? I know that is extreme but not beyond the scope of the question.
I think this statement is asking should anybody outside of just a man and a woman be able to get married.

This would include men marrying men, women marrying women and men and women being allowed to marry multiple partners legally in all states.

I believe that whomever made this statement believes the laws concerning this as they are today are outdated and in need of being modernized to fit the alternate lifestyles that are be coming more and more accepted.

Hope this helps!
Well you have your name right%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;BLAHHHHHH
