Yea it would, but there is always something, or someone, somewhere controlling something, or someone else. In Europe for instance as soon as a boy hits puberty his father will get a prostitute for him to lose his virginity yet the girl will have to pretend she's a virgin even if the parents know she's sleeping around. In the US girls are sexualized by the time they're 9 and depicted as sex objects for older men but then it's tabboo if she has sex before marriage while guys jump from bed to bed fathering the babies on average of 3 different women. I don't see where religion plays into any of it, maybe used as an excuse in some cases, but more about control. People want to control others sexual life and the others are willing to be controlled.
Do whatever they felt? Well honestly being boundless like that is a mix for disaster. Many kids today do whatever they want and end up with kids before they are out of high school. I really believe in the no sex until marriage. Because even if the marriage doesn't work, how can two virgins give each other an STD and if they have a child, well being married they are already together and should be able to support the child.
Of course freedom of those choices would be nice in every country. Technically, in the US it isn't illegal to lose your virginity before marriage, or even if you're underage. (Apparently there is a loop hole: as long as both people are underage it's not illegal? Not that I would do that.) But whether you wanna have sex or not that's your choice. You can do it illegally and not press charges too so... Whatever. :/
i have never heard of us Europeans as hiring prostitutes for are sons.


to the point, it's just a different extent in dif cultures. though, with women it's strongly discouraged because we are the fairer sex (sarcasm)
I agree with you but I would say never do anything you feel uncomfortable with whatever the pressure. In this case who would know you had or had not had sex except you and your partner(s).

Unfortunately, it's just part of culture (as you mentioned) and the socialization process.
It's not funny really ,its all to do with religion.
