How do Conservatives deal with the 9th Amendment and it's clear case for Gay Marriage?

9th Amendment:





The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.








Since the Constitution says that ALL men are created EQUAL.. and the 9th says that nobody can make a law that takes away this right in any way shape or form, how will they explain this?How do Conservatives deal with the 9th Amendment and it's clear case for Gay Marriage?
Don't see any of them answring and all you will get anyway is ';idiot'; .





They cannot debate this as they would be unable to provide and facts that support hteir case. This is valid and that is the end of it. Gays are Equal under the law and Gay marriage is going to have to be accepted like it or not. They still do jnot like interacial marriage. I pity them, so fill with fear and hate it blinds them.How do Conservatives deal with the 9th Amendment and it's clear case for Gay Marriage?
The ';gay rights'; people are not asking for equal treatment. In fact what they are asking for is exactly the opposite. To understand this it is only necessary to imaging a federal law that proscribed marriage as between ';one man and one woman.'; That law while being in line with traditional marriage would also have an equal effect on ALL citizens, both male and female.





What the gay rights people are requesting is to be exempted from the equity of such a ruling. They are asking to be exempted on the basis of a differing sexual preference, NOT on the basis of equal treatment.
They stay in the closet where they keep their gay thoughts locked up tight.





BTW, ';All men are created equal'; is in the Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution. Although the 14th Amendment does talk about all citizens having equal protection under the law.
Who says we have a right to get married?





I'm all for gay marriage (honestly), I just have to pose that question to you....when was marriage ever considered a ';right';?





If marriage were a right, it would be something we would all be guaranteed to have. Now obviously since some people don't get married, we aren't all guaranteed to have it, so it becomes more of a privledge. Something you get if you meet certain qualifications: actually having a partner, over 18, not related, only 1 spouse....and not of the same sex.





Now I have absolutely NO qualms about allowing same sex couples to get married. I could honestly care less, and I really hope one day that gays will be able to get hitched. As for saying it goes against the Constitution though...well that's just not true.





I'd say it goes against human compassion before I say it goes against the constitution.
Justify it all you want. It was intended for a man and a woman. That is the definition of marriage. It is as night and day as straight and gay. I don't like a pecker in my mouth, and you do. A big difference. The same thing applies with the separation of church and state. An atheist is allowed to speak his or her mind, but a christian is not. Hell, a Muslim has more rights than the both of us. Life ain't fair, get used to it. I know that is an unusual concept to grasp, but it is how it is. Everybody has a hard time, or a story to tell. It only makes us stronger.
I know some thought it said, ';every STRAIGHT man created equal.';





All tax paying Americans should have the same right to marry...what a concept I know.








Some of these answers are ridiculous, okay, if it's ';not a right'; think its what, a privilege?


So then its discrimanation. We allow inracial, and inter faith couples to marry.





But its okay for straight couples to get married for maybe 72 horus then divorce, or get married 20 times, i can obviously see why marriage is so ';sacred'; haha there arguement is a joke.





Like it or not, slowly the gays are getting the same ';privileges'; (rights) that any other couple is getting as well.





If you're against Gay marriage, guess what?

First of all, when the Constitution was written the *men* they were referring to were white landowners, women and minorities had restrictions on what they could/couldn't do. Secondly, if everyone was equal then people under 18 and those in prisons should get the right to vote, rapest and murders would get the same treatment as those with minor traffic violations. Thirdly, MARRIAGE IS NOT A RIGHT!!!

bottom line is if your argument had any logical basis.. this would have already been resolved by the courts. obviously since it hasn't been resolved that way... your argument holds no water.

i care about the millions it would cost to re-write the laws and then having to deal with churches being sued because they refuse to marry a gay couple





my uncles is a very christian man and if he wanted to get married he would want to do so in a church and i can almost guarantee a church would not support a gay marriage

Note, I am not saying this is the same as gay marriage. In fact, I wonder why our government is in the marriage business at all. I kind of wish the government would stay out of it %26amp; marriage would be just a religous ceremony %26amp;/or a document (like a civil union).
You are correct. And those that understand the constitution know this as well. I, personally, find it(gay anything) sick and just flat disgusting. but that does not give me any right to force my own will upon them so as to oppress theirs. And vice versa( Do understand this part). They'll be the ones that will be judged for their sexually abnormal habits. But not by me. That's god's place.

They ignore it like they ignore the constituion and their belief that the state can govern better than the federal government can.
They are now saying oh--then dogs and sheep can marry...I do not see anywhere in the Constitution that mentions it. It just says all men are created equal, I do know quite a few jackasses and weasels that are conservatives though.
We are guaranteed rights by the Constitution as individuals, not as groups. Those rights include homosexuals, what homosexuals and those supporting them want is extra constitutional rights, not enforcement of preexisting ones. God bless.
I'm sorry but I don't remember where in the Constitution it says you have the right to marry. Just as you don't have the right to a driver's license.
The bible says differently. I agree EVERYONE should be created equal but conservatives can be stupid on some topics with there hate and the bible making them portray this hate. It's just like the Qu'ran telling muslims to basically kill people not of their race
Conservatives just need to face the fact that gay marriage is not only here to stay, but will be realized in all 50 states.
I don't think the writers of the constitution ever imagined their words would be used to back sexual deviants.

Remember when they said all MEN are created equal... They didn't include women and people of colour into that equation. Gay marriage can be broken down to freedom of choice. Our freedom of choice doesn't exist anymore. We have the same sort of rights that people in prison are given. You obey what we say and we will give you PRIVILEGES but if you disobey then you will lose your privileges. Same concept. We no longer have the freedom of choice. We haven't in a long time. We get what they give us and if we dont like it tough. Let me explain in a way that most people should understand. When your in Burger King and your Burger is disgusting.. You go to the cashier and argue your complaint. The cashier is like the courts. You have to argue your case there first, then if your unsatisfied with their answers then you can say.. ''Let me see the manager!'' The manager is like the Supreme Court. You can get more answers from the manager.. but there is only so much he can do for you. If you REALLY have a problem then you need to go all the way to the top. What people never see is the CEOs of Burger King.. The Executives. They are really the only ones who can make a real difference if you have a problem.. But they are the ones who are practically impossible to get in touch with or to influence. We have the same problem.. The President isn't even the top anymore. Its obvious that the Clinton's, Bush's, Obama, all of them are just spokesmen for the Elite. Bankers who truly run our system, Men that have run our system since Woodrow Wilson was president back in 1933. These men are our biggest problem. Its like Lincoln said ''Im more afraid of the bankers behind me, then the armies infront of me.'' You should watch the documentary called 'The End Of America' by Naomi Wolf. When you see whats really happened to your rights.. It will really open your eyes.
You ever read the 9th Amendment Genius? It says that the federal goverment only has the powers that are specified by the constitution. Leave it up to the states. You want to get married to a gay guy? Great, go to Vermont, Mass, Iowa, etc. Leave the federal government out of it. Got it? You dumbass clown.





Yeah, and why can't polygamists be included. They ';have rights too'; right? That's the point. Get out of here you dummy.

Gay marriage is an absurd issue all the way around. The venom from the radicals, pro and con, betray their stupidity.
men have restrictions on marriage,too. they can't marry their sisters, goats, cars or other men.

Does that mean we should allow polygomous marriages as well?


How about a marriage of five men is that ok too?
