What options exist for atheists to have a marriage-like ceremony without the religious aspect?

I guess specifically, who would do the job of the priest? What is said in place of the whole ';holy matrimony'; speech? I'm not getting married any time soon, but I'm interested when I do decide to get married to my honey. Also, what are common venues besides a church to do this? Are there any other things which could be added to the ceremony (versus the deletion of the religious aspect)? What options exist for atheists to have a marriage-like ceremony without the religious aspect?
To find an officiant type into Yahoo your city, state %26amp; wedding officiant (no 's' on the end) You will have a few to choose from, usually on the 2nd page. The larger bridal sites seem to get top billing. If you do go to the bridal sites, please visit the site of someone you think you might like. Those bridal sites make vendors %26amp; officiants pay for your contact info so you may not hear back from someone you'd hoped.

You will find, ministers, humanists, pagans, wiccans, whatever your need.

You can get married many places; garden, hotel, Art gallery, winery, museum, farm, B%26amp;B, even the venue where you're having the reception. What options exist for atheists to have a marriage-like ceremony without the religious aspect?
The justice of the peace, they have a marriage specifically based on the legal union.
Go to the Justice of the Peace in your local city court house, write your own ceremony its legal without the church aspect.
Either a celebrant or the justice of the peace (depending on which country you are in) basically under the wedding section of the paper there should be a listing for civil servants who can perform marriages..

Also for venues if you don't want to get married in church there are plenty of places to get married... a hall, a garden.. bascially anywhere that tickles your fancy. (providing people will allow you) i know someone who got married at a skate rink because that is where they met and fell in love.. it was great
if your atheist you wouldn't even consider the word priest. I don't get it. Get your priorities straight if your atheist!
get married by a celebrant, in a beautiful garden
My daughter is a Christian and he husband is a Jew.So they had a wedding using a Judge. It was very nice and no one was offended. It worked well for both sides.
I've only got an idea for the priest thing.

Have a friend of the two of you get ordained.

That person could do the ceremony anyway you like.

You get the paperwork from city hall or the library anyway.
lots of couples get married at the courthouse,no problem.
well justice of the peace is always a good suggestion.

otherwise, i am certain that anyone could become ordained.

so a friend or relative could marry you.

then you can have a ceremony where ever you like.

My favorite thing... Google it!!!
