Gay marriage ruins the sanctity of marriage, but you can cheat on your wives?

Does it make any one else angry that quite a few conservatives have been caught cheating after preaching good values and the sanctity of marriage? I understand that not everyone believes that gay marriage should be legal and that is fine, but its so hypocritical.Gay marriage ruins the sanctity of marriage, but you can cheat on your wives?
I'd like to marry an eagle, that way when we kiss she can also regurgitate her food and feed me.Gay marriage ruins the sanctity of marriage, but you can cheat on your wives?
I see your point, but you're comparing apples and oranges. Yes, it is wrong to cheat. Conservatives are sometimes guilty of not practicing what they preach. The difference between us and liberals is that we at least admit there are absolutes and morals under natural law. One can still strive to be better, even though they fall by the wayside here and there. The thing is, if nobody admits that a particular behavior is wrong, then there's nothin to fix. So long as we realize we must strive to overcome wrongdoings, we still have a chance. If we say everything is relative, then we have nothing to work for because it's all up to the individual. Most conservatives I've chatted with are very displeased with this man and think that he should resign. I'd rather be affiliated with a party that at least sets some standard of morality and works to achieving a higher level of morality than be affiliated with a party that is hedonistic in nature, and basically everything goes to the point that there's no accountability. At least the man did admit that what he did was wrong. Don't worry, these things go in cycles, so give it a few weeks and the tide will turn on the dems.
They never stated that cheating on their wives was ok. The fact that they did it is indeed hypocritical. However, as a conservative, I don't want those people representing my views. The fact that one conservative did it doesn't mean every conservative condones it. Just like when one liberal says that capital punishment is bad but killing a fetus is ok. Hypocritical? I'd say so. But does that mean every liberal shares such views? No.

You are stereotyping, something liberals tend to condemn but they do it anyway. Everyone's a hypocrite in some sense of the word. All we can hope to do is learn from our mistakes.
Marriage is real sacred isn't it..coming from a country that produces such shows as '; Who wants to marry a millionaire'; '; who wants to marry a midget'; '; The Bachelor'; ..let the gay people get married they deserve the right to be miserable like the rest of us
I'd make a terrible conservative. I'd be out there protesting against adultery while the rest of my comrades would be protesting gay marriage.

Sheer hypocrisy. I'd be ashamed to be associated with the conservatives.
Sanctity of Marriage? Is that like the clean coal technology? The only sanctity in marriage is the fact that it doesn't have to be a life sentence. Make the switch. Ditch the B*tch.
A few people cheating doesn't represent the whole party. You're just generalizing the few that did into the whole Republican party, therefore, no, it's not hypocritical.
Yes, it is hypocritical for the particular ones that cheat, but this does not make up the majority. You are stereotyping.
Divorce is the only thing that literally ruins the sanctity of marriage.
Yes, it is hypocritical.
You are talking apples and oranges
Are you saying gay couples never cheat?
